The Kickin’ Ascots aren’t in jail too long before they are interrogated about their reasons for assaulting a high noble family. It seems that Victoro Cassalanter has spun the tale of the events of the evening to portray the Ascots in a bad light. Our fearless group knows that penalty of such actions in the city of Waterdeep is harsh so they plead for help from friends.

Two such friends who visit the jail upon hearing news of the arrest are Valetta from the temple of Gond and Captain Zarodoz Zord. Each tries to convince the Captain of the City Guard that the group is upstanding and may be on to some shadier doings in Waterdeep, but to no avail. Even a large amount of coin offered up by Zord does not sway the guard into releasing the crew.
Taking matters into their own hands (and through great use of diversionary tactics using magic) the group are able to retrieve their belongings and flee the jail cells that held them. Fleeing into the night they quickly decide that they are not safe going back to Trollskull Tavern, so they head toward the City of the Dead – the only other clue they have about the Cassalanters is that Amalia was fleeing to their family crypt.
